August 18, 2020

If your rise from slumber did not include a sunny disposition this morning, go directly to your bathroom mirror, and take a look, a good look.  Now, no matter how difficult it might be at first, smile.  Your lips might quiver, initially.  Still, continue to hold that smile, and take a look, a good look.  It is as if you are looking into the face of two different people.  And you are.  One is going with “the down,” and the other is participating in “the up.”  It is really your choice.  You can choose to be down all day, or you can choose to play an active role in the lifting-up of yourself.  Keep that smile on your face, even if it requires work.  It will be worth the effort.  And you will learn how much it is worth, as you move through the day.  Everyone you encounter will see the smile and greet you in-kind.  As the morning progresses, you will be playing the leading role in distributing “the up” everywhere your morning takes you.  Come noon, without even noticing how it occurred, you will be smiling, without effort.  The smile now belongs exactly where it is, while encouraging others to do the same.  Participate in “the up,” today.

And The Holy Spirit says:

There are few things which can accomplish a lot, with a little effort.  Smiling is one of them.  Smile, and accomplish a lot today.
